In the role I handle the Foundation’s budget and projects, which amounts to roughly USD 600,000 per year as well as its Thai charity, which did the USD 1.5M Soneva Forest Restoration Project in 2011-12.

ITP provides a network for leaders within the hotel industry to collaborate with businesses, industry-associations, non-profit organisations, campaigners, suppliers and academics – all with the common goal of improved sustainability standards.

As Zone 5 Chairperson I am responsible for the three Lions Clubs in Zone 5, District 310 B, Thailand and to report on their activities to the 310 B District Governor. The three clubs are Lions Club of Phuket Pearl, Lions Club of Patong and Lions Club of Andaman Sea.

I have been member since 2009 and elected as President of Lions Club of Phuket Pearl for fiscal July 2013 – June 2014 and re-elected for fiscal July 2014 – June 2015. Lions Club of Phuket Pearl is a non-for-profit organisation serving the community with focus on disabled and orphaned children in Phuket, Thailand since 1991. During my Presidency we screened 645 children at Wat Sawang Arom School for vision correction and provided 55 children with corrective eyeglasses. We also provided 43 children with corrective eyeglasses at Ao Nambor School. Lions Club of Phuket Pearl is part of Lions Club International, which is the largest service club in the world encompassing over 200 countries, 42,000 clubs and over 1.4 million members.

I am Advisory Board member of the Center for Study of Sustainable Hotels in Argentina. The Center is the first of its kind in Latin America and aims to support companies in the hospitality sector in the evolution towards sustainability, generating innovative business concepts and models, and promoting responsible practices, including their value chain.
