Spanish IE Business School and Argentina’s Foundation for Higher Education and Research jointly created the prize, which are aimed at recognising the best sales practices, strategies and innovations in areas related to sustainability in the luxury and premium sector.
Soneva, the luxury resort chain which is a pioneer in sustainability in its battle against climate change with properties in Thailand and the Maldives won the Hospitality category. The company was in particular recognised for the way it is designed to decarbonise its operation by absorbing more CO2 than it produces including guests flying to the resorts.
Other winners included UK company Elvis & Kresse in the Fashion and Accessories category for its innovative recycling of the London Fired Brigade’s fire hoses into fashionable purses, belts and accessories.
