Google Invests $75M into Wind Farm

Google is yet again investing into renewable energy. This time they invest USD 75 million into a 50MW wind farm in Rippey, Iowa.

With their “do no evil” motto Google is again demonstrating that responsible business makes business. With their servers requiring huge amount of energy they see the benefit of hedging against rising energy prices. Their heavy investment in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind power projects, is not just done for pr purposes, but also from beneficial savings on energy costs.

The Rippey wind project should generate enough to power 15,000 homes with clean energy.

With the stake in the Rippey wind project, Google has now invested USD 990 million in renewable energy. The question now is when they will hit the 1 billion mark?
